Egypt Is The Magick #
"How Many Pieces of the Puzzle Can the Mind Go Without?"
2000

Egypt is the Magick # played psychedelic communal trance music, similar to Yahowha 13, Kalakacra and Siloah Their live shows in the late 90s were breathtaking.  Egypt's core members were Adam Mortimer (check his www.myspace.com/egyptmagick) and Dave Shuford (of NNCK).

Egypt were part of the No Neck Blues Band family and often played shows with them.  Egypt self-released some of their live recordings on a double-tape in '98 (check it out on http://mutant-sounds.blogspot.com/2007/06/egypt-is-magick-sttapeusa.html).  Some of these tape recordings were later re-released as the VALENTINE PROCESS lp.

"How Many Pieces of the Puzzle Can the Mind Go Without?" was recorded in the studio in 1999, with NNCK members participating.  Four long psychedelic tracks, Beefheart-meet-Sun Ra style.
Psycho-Path Records began at Egypt's show in 1999.

ZIPPO ZETTERLINK (VOLUME 2)

Wolfgang Orschakowski

Story about the soul recording tonight
1969-1974 & beyond
(History of Zippo Zetterlink, Volume 2)
CD

If you think, you just get used to one sound, there is already another one. Thats all psychedelic! Blues is no Blues, Disco no Disco, Classic no Classic ... but psychedelic, first strange for common listeners. Maybe hear it slow, each day one track, so you could have more fun. And your psychic sensibility will not let you down.

Some tracks belong to a bigger thing, like "over the barbed wire", "let my guitar", "flamenco didel", these are from my "spülfeld symphonie".

"I gonna lay down my soul" and "do what you want" are from my rare Istanbul tapes. For this time I am lucky a friend still kept them.
There are more, I have to look around. They have been composed and sung in a hotel room in Istanbul, where I stayed with the band.

"Soldatenstiefel" exist in many different versions. It was recorded in a studio from my art school "HfbK Lerchenfeld" with old Telefunken and Revox machines. The girl singer had a very good voice, she first asked what I mean with this strange poems. I told her, it is simply against military overpower, against exploitation, she understood and we recorded.

"Blues for Files, Markers, Tincan, Guitar and Voice" was done in my own studio, also "she likes poems".

The "SCREW ME MACHINE" is my underground street performance, a kind of 'walking act' to give sound to the city by the assistance of my self-constructed music machines. One of them if called "E.T.", for "Electrical Theatre Machine". This is "My Lay Street", "Underground 2 or 3", and "screw me machine & E.T. in Wismar."

"ISTANBULUM" is composed in a hotel room in Istanbul at the Bosporus, when I heard Muezzin sing a prayer from the rocket-shape high tower of Hagia Sophia. I wrote some notes and practised this the same day with the band.

"Enjoy me" singer was Melody L., girl from an island in the atlantic ocean.

"Singe" is sung by Hiroko Oike. My love poem was for a run away and I composed this in a way of Schubert Lied. A german Lied, colourful psychedelic the words...

in "TRUCKIN BIRDIE" I mixed too traditionals, one german and one american- in between I put other words and played the double bass.

the "Story about the soul recording from tonight" is about me: I was the one who recorded "I deal" on a strange plastic guitar, so no one feel offended. Even if my english is not mother language, it was the communication language in the bands with international musicians. Words.

I grew in a technical urban world, a cyberhome with microphones, electric guitars and computers. To draw construction plans for machines into the sand of my families home was my interest... somehow a native of techniques, this still plays the main part in the use of electronic and materials of the action performance, pictures and musical style: psychedelic!

BLUMEN DES EXOTISCHEN EISES

Blumen Des Exotischen Eises:
"Karawane Der Mystiks"
1984-1986
CD
with bonus tracks

D.I.Y. psychedelic kraut rock

"Alfred Otterstaetter began playing music in the late '70s, releasing homemade tapes and records under different band names. Blumen des Exotischen Eises LP was released in '86 in the quantity of 100 copies on his Dead Eye Records. It was recorded between '83 and '85 and consisted of spontaneous music, some of it played by Alfred alone on different instruments with overdubs, and some with friends. Some tracks have early '70s open-air spaced out feel, others -- more heavy hypnotic Teutonic sound. Overall, this record will appeal to fans of other German bands like Kalacakra, Siloah, Limbus, Faust, and Amon Duul I. This is the official and first ever CD reissue of Karawane der Mystiks album, with three previously unreleased bonus tracks from the original recording sessions. Original artwork, remastered sound."

"In The Poor Sun"

1969-1971

CD

DIY Psychedelic Krautrock Blues

This was one of the first lost relics of Krautrock to be unearthed. Zippo Zetterlink was the band lead by an obscure character from the late-60's/early-70's Hamburg underground scene, one Wolfgang Orschakowski. At the time of course, no one would release such an album of demented psychedelic cosmic blues! So, in the late-70's Wolfgang released an album himself, documenting some of his remarkable lost music. With live recordings from the Blow Up club in Munich circa 1969, a festival in the Hamburg Melle Park in summer 1971, and some studio jams. Mostly, the side long title track in particular, it's stoned Ash Ra Tempel style jamming, though much more crude and demented. There are a couple of short blues songs too, one interesting, one less-so. It amounts to a unique vision into the Hamburg psychedelic underground, and an unknown Krautrock relic.

JESUS WITH ME

Jesus With Me
"S/T"
2002 CD

psychedelic freak out rock band from NYC

"Somewhere in the late 90’s 4 Russians met in NYC and formed this jam group for the higher spirit, following the road and/or spirits of Amon Düül I, Faust, High Rise, Keiji Haino and Ya Ho Wha 13. And the music indeed has the mad fuzz, bass, noise wall psychedelic extremeness of some Japanese psych (Acid Temple, High Rise, White Heaven, some of Haino’s groups), and some spiritual musical breakthrough with the music focus of YaHoWha 13, some slightly chaotic trippy patterns of Amon Düül I, mixed with an improvisational focus of the more advanced experimental Kraut in general. The guitars are penetrating in its improvising towards the infinite, with fuzz noise that keeps up the trippy effect, while the bass is almost swimming while moving-mountains-wise, with the drum in a freeformed slamming mania.
